This series of images was inspired by the Strugatsky brothers' book "Picnic on the Side of the Road", written in 1971. It tells about an artifact in the exclusion zone, which fulfilled any desires, but could take a life.
Quotes from the story:
"There was nothing disappointing or doubtful about it, but there was nothing encouraging either. For some reason, the thought immediately came to mind that it was probably hollow and that it should be very hot to the touch..."
"He no longer looked at Redrick, he forgot about Redrick, he forgot about everything, he went to fulfill his desires, little secret desires..."
"— Happiness to all!.. For nothing!.. As much happiness as you want!.. Everyone will gather here!.. Enough for everyone!.. No one will leave offended!.. For nothing!.. Happiness! nothing like that!.."
